The Hunger Games Summary from LitCharts

hunger games 1 summary

Having a victor is important to a district — extra food and a few luxuries will be granted to the winner's district. In the Hunger Games, two tributes from each district are selected from a lottery and then sent to an arena where they kill one another. It was never her intention to sabotage the Games and incite a rebellion, she just wanted her family and friends to be safe. It is also incredibly vivid in imagery, and the plot is easy to follow. Panem is currently separated into 12 districts, each of which serves a specific purpose for the society, and is ruled from the distant sparkling Capitol. In my opinion, I really enjoyed this book.
